I’m Jeff Fried — a professional photographer, videographer, and visual strategist based in Denver, Colorado.
For over 15 years, I’ve worked with brands, publications, and individuals who need more than “nice images.” My work is about clarity, credibility, and connection — using photography and video to tell real stories that resonate with people and move businesses forward.
Over the years, my work has appeared on magazine covers, inside national publications, and across digital campaigns for clients ranging from global brands to independent creatives. I’ve photographed everyone from business leaders and entrepreneurs to athletes, artists, and everyday people who simply want to be seen clearly and honestly.
My approach to photography and videography is rooted in storytelling.
Whether I’m shooting portraits, editorial features, branded content, or video, the goal is always the same: create work that feels intentional, grounded, and human. I specialize in:
Editorial and portrait photography
Professional headshots and personal branding
Commercial and branded photography
Video production for brands and creatives
Location and studio lighting
Digital workflows and post-production
I work primarily on location, collaborating closely with clients to understand not just what they want to show, but why it matters.
At a certain point in my career, something shifted.
I realized that much of the value I’d built over the years wasn’t just in the images I was creating — it was in the experience, decision-making, and perspective behind them. Friends, assistants, and younger photographers began asking the same questions:
How do you approach a shoot?
How do you price your work?
How do you build trust with clients?
How do you turn photography into a sustainable career?
That’s what led me to create theCamera.School — an online mentorship platform built by photographers, for photographers.
Through https://thecamera.school, I connect photographers and visual creators with experienced mentors for one-on-one guidance, portfolio reviews, career strategy, and creative development. It’s not about presets or shortcuts — it’s about learning how professionals actually think, work, and grow.
The platform reflects the same philosophy I bring to my client work: thoughtful craft, practical experience, and long-term thinking.
My work as a photographer, videographer, and mentor isn’t separate — it’s all part of the same practice.
I create.
I teach.
I help others see more clearly — whether through an image, a video, or a conversation.
If you’re here because you’re looking for a photographer or videographer, you’ll find someone who understands both the creative and strategic sides of visual work.
If you’re here because you’re a photographer looking to grow, you’ll find a mentor who’s been in the field, made mistakes, built a career, and believes in passing that knowledge forward.
When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, playing piano, or in the garden growing food and planting fruit trees. I believe creative work is better when it’s balanced by physical movement, curiosity, and time spent offline.
If you’d like to work together — or you’re interested in mentorship — feel free to reach out or explore theCamera.School.

Rolling around with my friends is my major pass time. I am a purple belt under Prof. Tony Debelak at Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Aurora.
Playing piano is one of my favorite ways to relax. I began playing in my late teens. I’m inspired by Ray Charles, Keith Jarret, and Erik Satie.
I'm very content digging in the dirt and growing things I can share. My favorites include tomatoes, strawberries, and blueberries. I’ve planted ten fruit trees in the last two years including apple, pear, peach, cherry and plum trees.
And here I am getting hipped tossed into oblivion by one of my training partners.
